As ISC West’s 2022 flag ship event drew nearer, Dragonfruit knew they needed to make an impact. The problem? The most strategic booth space was an oddly-sized 40 foot by 10 foot space right in the middle of the floor.
Ashandelle’s environmental design team got excited when they saw the space they were working with.
Short attention spans and the chaos of a bustling trade show floor demand unforgettable experiences. Our approach to environmental design is to build brand-forward, memorable encounters that conference goers can’t resist. But the flashiest booth on the floor would be useless if Dragonfruit AI couldn’t meet their goals for the event.
So before jumping to the actual design, it was important to fully understand how Dragonfruit wanted to present themselves at the event and what they needed to accomplish. Talking through how the space would be used gave us several priorities surrounding their brand, event messaging, and how they would use the booth.
Dragonfruit needed to drive traffic to their booth at ISC West and it was imperative that every touchpoint with prospective clients at the event—from interactive stations to their slip-and-fall tracking demo—helped build a cohesive narrative about their product, which is an innovative, enterprise-ready, massively scalable video AI platform.
In order to create the desired experience and facilitate the conversations that needed to happen, Dragonfruit needed multiple demo stations and several specific elements in the booth.

To bring this experience to life, and to start building brand equity, it needed to build on the bold and colorful design language we created for Dragonfruit AI.
Their brand, guided by the cutting-edge technology of their offerings, plays on the concepts of space, new frontiers, and challenges to conquer. From a gradient-based color palette that pairs vibrant accents with deep, dark base colors to orbital path animations, their distinct visual language clearly relays and reinforces the nature of their cutting-edge offerings.
Rather than looking at the unusual size as a detriment, our designers made it a key aspect of the resulting 360°, open floor plan booth. By approaching the space from a 3D perspective, we were able to leverage the available vertical space to create a booth that wasn’t just unique, but was visible from anywhere on the tradeshow floor.
Building elements that continue the theme and delight attendees helps make Dragonfruit’s presence a memorable one. With hanging globe lighting reminiscent of solar system models and comfortable and welcoming spaces overall, we were able to deliver an unforgettable encounter.
Leaning on Dragonfruit’s bold use of colors and refined space visuals, gave us an incredible starting point to build something eye-catching.
